2. Direction: How clear are you on where your business is going and how you’re going to get there? *

Aimless, we are building the plane in the air!

I know where we are going, but the plan is not defined/documented.

Annual and quarterly goals and plans are defined, but not tracking progress.

Weekly action plans in place with daily check-ins and monthly reporting.

We are continuously adjusting our goals and plans based on our results.

3. Money: How well do you feel you are managing your money? *

I don’t really know or understand how to read my financials.

We have a budget, but we don’t track it.

We have daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly projections and track them accordingly.

4. Brand: How well have you identified your target market and differentiated yourself from your competitors? *

Our target market is “anyone who needs what we have”.

We know exactly who our customers are, where to find them and when.

Our brand message speaks directly to our target audience.

Our people and process provide a unique value that nobody else can.

Our look and feel is aligned with our brand message, designed specifically to engage our ideal client psychographics, and is consistent across all touch points of the business. (i.e. web page, email signature, invoices, advertising, social media content, etc).

5. Your People: How defined are your roles, responsibilities, accountability measures, and team motivation? *

We have a list of all the functions the business performs, what role is responsible for executing them, what results are expected, and who the role reports to.

Everyone in the business knows what they are responsible for and we have a written document, or contract that details the agreement for each role.

We have a defined Hiring/Firing process in place to ensure we have the ‘right people in the right roles’ and can transition anyone who is not a good fit.

All our employees have documented personal and career goals that are aligned with the business goals.

Are proactive performance measures in place so each individual team member's performance and progress is being tracked and monitored in accordance with the aligned goals.

6. Delivery: How organized is your product/service delivery? (i.e. Your people and processes) *

Everyone does a bit of everything and nobody’s accountable for anything.

Everyone knows who is supposed to do what and when.

We perform each function the same way each and every time.

Each role has the right people with the skills, experience and personality to excel.

Our team’s personal and career goals are in alignment with our business goals and we have proactive performance targets, measures and reviews in place.

7. Sales: How well do you convert prospects into paying customers? *

It happens differently depending on who’s selling and who the customer is.

We have a fairly consistent process, generally understood but not defined.

Our sales reps know exactly the who/what/when and how to move prospects through each stage of the buying process and when to walk away.

Our sales pipeline conversion data shows us what’s working and what’s not.

Our sales reps only have sales conversations with prospects who want our services, can afford them and are ready to buy.

8. Marketing: How effective are you at capturing leads and qualifying prospects? *

No real plan in place, we hope for the best.

We know where most of our business comes from and are intentional about investing time and money into those channels.

We have marketing goals and plans in place with personalized messaging to each market segment in each stage of the lead to prospect lifecycle.

Our dashboards allow us to identify what mediums and messages are resulting in the best lead capture and engagement.

We generate a consistent stream of high probability prospects for our sales team in alignment with our targets and can adjust the influx of leads as needed.
